Ready or Not

As a little kid my family and I would play this game called hide and seek! Let’s pretend you don’t know the game so I can give the rundown...

Here’s the rundown!!

There’s a group of people who hide and then there is one person who counts this person is called the seeker. The seeker must close their eyes and count down from 10, this gives those who are hiding time to fine a place to hide without being seen!

Once the seeker is done counting he ends the count by saying,” Ready or Not Here I Come!”

Fun right?! Heck yeah!

But how many us can admit that we tend to play this game when it come to our relationship with God and the calling/gifts He has placed on us and in us?

I’ll raise both hands for that!

My family and I used to attend a Pentecostal church where they were huge on letting the Lord use them to prophesy and speak life over whoever God told them to. There has been times where that person was myself!

I have been told that I would be a leader, speaker, and even a writer! All of which I ran from! I let fear and anxiety overtake me causing me to say NO to any opportunity that presented itself to me.

I let the fear of past mistakes and anxiety of the unknown cause me to run and hide from the seeker (God) who had bigger and better plans for me!

In the game of hide and seek, if you were caught by the seeker that meant game over for you!

The difference between the childhood game and the game I found myself playing with God is, when God would run after me it wasn’t to make it game over for me, but it was to be the beginning of something that would cause me to win in the long haul!

Although I was running to keep from losing, to keep my dirty baggage hidden, and to stay comfortable God said, “ No that’s not the direction I want you to go!”

There’s a song that stays as a reminder for myself and hopefully yourself! The song talks about how God reaches out for us, He chases us down, and reminds us to believe how much He loves us and wants us to win!

Remember He’s reaching out for you! Although you are finding yourself running away from Him to keep hidden and out of sight he will chase after you! He will reach out to grab you! He has greater plans for you it’s up to you to turn around and take His hand! Let Him show you how your story will be used for His glory!

You will cause such a tremble in the earth with the power He has placed inside of you, you have to trust Him! He’s saying,”believe that I am not here to get you out of the game, but I am here to put you in the front of the line!”

You are His priority and His choice!!

Ready or Not Here He Comes!!

I am proof of what turning around will do! I stopped dead in my tracks and said “here I am, you chased me down I am done running!”

In the process of doing that He has blessed me in so many ways! I am that leader He has called me to be! I am leading and coaching amazing young adult group leaders who are leading groups of their own! I am also leading and amazing group of young ladies who have trusted me and are open to receiving all that God has for them! I am writing now praying that my words encourage others to trust the process and depend on God!

Ready Or Not! There’s a gift stirring inside of you that God wants to use! Don’t let it sit dormant!
